URL(x) to the Rescue in URL-Related Disputes?
CIO Weblog’s Wolfgang Müller examines (in German) the ongoing model brouhaha from a technical perspective, pointing out that the use of url(x) changes his previous post http://www.cio-weblog.de/50226711/fall_klum_wer_ist_hier_der_trittbrettfahrer.php to http://urlx.org/cio-weblog.de/83a2.
So, in addition to url(x)’s intended purpose of "managing long, cumbersome URLs… [in order to] more easily share a permanent, redirecting URL with others via email, IRC, or anywhere else you might need to keep things concise," it may inadvertently play a future role in similar URL-related disputes.
